For e-commerce sites which have a high lifetime consumer value, the new customer coupon restriction is fine. Without losing margins for those who already enjoy it, having a discount on the first offer will help draw in new customers.
If a customer is signed in the extension can check that they haven’t ordered anything from the web until allowing the coupon to be applied. For clients who are not logged in once the e-mail address has been entered, the coupon authentication runs just before checkout.
Current Clients
There are a variety of situations in which you may want to reach current customers with a coupon code:
A new version of a digital product has been launched and you want to give consumers a discount on the new version.
You have increased prices for specific goods, however you want to offer current customers an opportunity to buy at the original price.
With a special coupon, you just want to reward your current customer base.
Roles of Consumer
The limitation of roles enables a coupon to be limited to one or more user roles. You can generate coupons specifically for them if you use custom roles for various client types i.e. wholesale, vip, etc.). You can create coupons specifically for your members if you’re running a membership site that uses custom roles.
Particular Countries
The country limitation allows you to choose one or more countries to which the coupon is limited. You will want to use the national restrictions for:
Promotions for special countries (Singles Day in China, Black Friday in the United States, etc).
Shifts or variations in currency.
Coupons that allow individual nations to discount shipping charges.
Specific zip codes or postal codes
The zip code limitation allows you to limit one or more zip codes to a voucher. This can be used for particular cities or shipping areas if you choose to deliver a reduced price. Wildcard matching at the end of zip codes is also enabled by this limitation (e.g. 95* would limit the coupon to all zip codes that begin with ’95’).
